Ladli Laxmi Yojana 2026: ₹1.43 Lakh Benefits, Eligibility, Registration, Scholarship and Status
Madhya Pradesh’s Mukhyamantri Ladli Laxmi Yojana is a long-running girl-child welfare programme that links early registration with education incentives and a larger payment at adulthood. It is not a single cash transfer of ₹1.43 lakh. Instead, an eligible registered girl receives benefits at specified stages of schooling and higher education, with the final amount subject to age, education and marriage-related conditions.
The State’s scheme dashboard currently describes an assurance certificate of ₹1.43 lakh after online registration. The benefit structure includes scholarships in Classes 6, 9, 11 and 12, a ₹25,000 higher-education incentive in two instalments, and ₹1 lakh at age 21 if the prescribed conditions are met. Parents should therefore treat registration, school records, bank details and later education updates as part of one long-term process rather than assuming that registration alone triggers every future payment.

What Is Ladli Laxmi Yojana?
The scheme was introduced to encourage a positive attitude towards the birth of girls, improve the sex ratio and support girls’ education, health and future security. It works as a staged welfare programme. The State registers an eligible girl, issues a scheme certificate and then releases later benefits when the required milestones are recorded and verified.
This staged design is important. A family should not read “₹1.43 lakh certificate” as ₹1.43 lakh available immediately after registration. The value is spread across schooling, higher education and the final adulthood benefit.
Who Is Eligible?
The standard eligibility conditions published by the Madhya Pradesh Government include the following:
- The girl should have been born on or after 1 January 2006.
- The parents should be permanent residents/domiciles of Madhya Pradesh.
- The parents should not be income-tax payers.
- In ordinary cases, the parents should have two or fewer children and the family-planning condition prescribed after the second child should be satisfied.
- For a first-delivery girl born on or after 1 April 2008, the benefit can be given without requiring family planning at that stage; the applicable condition after a second delivery continues.
Special Cases Recognised Under the Scheme
The scheme rules also contain special provisions so that unusual family circumstances are not judged only by the ordinary child-count condition. Government material specifically refers to certain special cases.
- If three girls are born together in the first delivery, all three can be covered subject to the applicable rules.
- Eligible girls born to women prisoners can be considered under the scheme.
- Where family planning could not be adopted for health reasons, the rules provide additional time for approval in specified cases.
- A girl born as a result of rape of a minor girl or woman can be covered under the special provisions.
- Families should ask the Anganwadi/CDPO office to apply the special-case rule instead of abandoning an application merely because the usual family structure does not fit.
Benefits Available at Different Stages
- Class 6 admission: ₹2,000 scholarship.
- Class 9 admission: ₹4,000 scholarship.
- Class 11 admission: ₹6,000 scholarship.
- Class 12 admission: ₹6,000 scholarship.
- After Class 12, entry into an eligible graduate or professional course of at least two years: ₹25,000 in two equal instalments, generally in the first and final year of the course.
- At age 21: ₹1,00,000, provided the beneficiary has appeared in the Class 12 examination and, if married, the marriage took place only after the legally prescribed minimum age under the child-marriage law.
Documents to Keep Ready
The official scheme dashboard lists core documents for registration. Keep clear and consistent copies so that the child’s name and date of birth do not vary across records.
- Recent photograph of the girl with her mother or father.
- Girl child’s birth certificate.
- Proof that the parent/family is a resident of Madhya Pradesh, such as the accepted local-residence record, voter identification or ration-card evidence as applicable.
- Girl child’s vaccination/immunisation card.
- Any Samagra, education, bank or identity details asked for by the portal or local office during verification.
- For later scholarship stages, keep school admission/class records and an active DBT-capable bank account updated.
How to Apply for Ladli Laxmi Yojana
Registration is free. The State allows both direct and assisted routes. Families who are not comfortable with online submission can use the local service system.
- Check the basic eligibility and make sure the girl’s birth record and family details are correct.
- Use the official Ladli Laxmi portal or approach a Lok Seva Kendra, Anganwadi worker or other authorised service point.
- Enter the child and parent details exactly as they appear in supporting documents.
- Upload or submit the photograph, birth certificate, residence proof, vaccination record and any other document requested for the case.
- Submit the application and retain the registration/application number.
- After approval, download or collect the Ladli Laxmi assurance certificate and keep the registration number safely for future school and benefit updates.
How to Check Registration and Status
The scheme portal allows beneficiary information to be searched using details such as the girl’s registration number, name, date of birth or parent name. If a school-stage payment is missing, first verify whether the education record, bank details and DBT status have been correctly updated.
Payment problems are often record problems rather than fresh eligibility problems. A mismatch in the beneficiary name, date of birth, education database, bank account or DBT mapping can hold up an otherwise approved scholarship.
Higher-Education Benefit Under Ladli Laxmi 2.0
Registered Ladli Laxmi beneficiaries who enter an eligible graduate or professional course of at least two years after Class 12 can receive the ₹25,000 incentive in two equal instalments. Madhya Pradesh higher-education guidance also provides for tuition-fee support up to the graduate level under the applicable Ladli Laxmi 2.0 rules.
Students should select the correct scheme option during the State higher-education admission process where applicable and ensure that their Ladli registration details match the admission record.
What to Do if a Scholarship Is Not Credited
- Check whether the correct class/admission record has reached the scheme system.
- Confirm that the beneficiary’s bank account is active and correctly mapped for DBT/NPCI payments.
- Correct any mismatch in the girl’s name or date of birth between Ladli, Samagra, school and bank records.
- Contact the Anganwadi/CDPO or district Women and Child Development office with the Ladli registration number and bank passbook.
- If the issue remains unresolved, use the Madhya Pradesh CM Helpline/grievance route rather than creating a second registration.
FAQs
Q. Can the entire ₹1.43 lakh be withdrawn immediately after registration?
No. ₹1.43 lakh represents the staged benefit structure described by the State. School scholarships, the higher-education incentive and the final ₹1 lakh are released only when their respective conditions are met.
Q. What happens if the family moves to another district within Madhya Pradesh?
The beneficiary should preserve the Ladli registration number and get address, school and local project details updated through the scheme/local Women and Child Development system. A move within the State does not mean a new beneficiary record should automatically be created.
Q. Can a payment fail even when the girl is already approved?
Yes. Education-data mismatches, inactive DBT mapping, an incorrect bank record or inconsistent personal details can delay payment. These should be corrected against the existing registration.
Q. Is the ₹25,000 higher-education amount paid in one instalment?
The State describes it as two equal instalments for an eligible degree or professional course of at least two years, generally linked to the first and final year of the course.
Q. Does marriage before age 21 automatically give the final ₹1 lakh?
No. The final payment is tied to the scheme’s age, education and lawful-marriage conditions. Registration itself does not create an unconditional right to early withdrawal.
